10 Ways Hogs for the Cause Has Made a Difference
1. Children’s Hospital New Orleans – $2,500,000 Hogs for the Cause allocated $2.5 million for the development of on-campus housing known as “Hogs House” at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. This initiative provides a supportive and comfortable environment for families outside the New Orleans region whose children require ongoing healthcare treatment.
2. Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital (OLOL) – $2,250,000 The construction of the on-campus housing facility, “Hogs House,” at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge was made possible by a generous donation of $2.25 million from Hogs for the Cause. This accommodation ensures families have a convenient place to stay while their child undergoes treatment.
3. Direct Grants to Individual Families – $2,100,000 Recognizing the financial strain faced by families battling pediatric cancer, Hogs for the Cause has awarded over 1,600 grants, totaling $2.1 million, to families nationwide. These grants provide essential support to cover medical expenses, transportation, and other critical needs during their challenging journey.
4. Prisma Health Children’s Hospital – $1,000,000 Hogs for the Cause donated $1 million to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital to establish an inpatient unit dedicated to treating children, adolescents, young adults, and adults with childhood hematologic and oncologic diseases. This contribution enhances the quality of care provided to patients across various age groups.
5. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) – $800,000 With a donation of $800,000, Hogs for the Cause made a significant impact on pediatric oncology patient care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In recognition of this generous gift, a Celebration Area at CHOA was established in Team Foxeria del Sol’s name, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to bringing joy and support to young patients.
6. Oschner Hospital For Children – $165,000 Hogs for the Cause contributed $165,000 to Oschner Hospital For Children, supporting the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program. This donation aided in the construction of two Stem Cell Recovery rooms and the Pediatric Piggy Bank, providing vital resources for the recovery and well-being of young patients.
7. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite – $75,000 To further enhance the Cancer Program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, Hogs for the Cause donated $75,000. This contribution enables the hospital to offer comprehensive and specialized care to young cancer patients and their families.
8. Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital – $75,000 The Hogs for the Cause Family and Patient Fund at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital received a generous donation of $75,000. This fund aims to support oncology patient families by providing assistance for needs not covered by insurance but crucial for the child’s care.

AFLAC Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – $50,000 Hogs for the Cause donated $50,000 to the AFLAC Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This contribution was specifically directed towards creating the Fox Bros Bar-B-Q/Taqueria del Sol Patient Room, offering a comforting and supportive environment for young patients during their treatment.
10. Children’s Hospital New Orleans – $25,000 The “Hogs for the Cause” Fund at Children’s Hospital New Orleans received a $25,000 contribution from Hogs for the Cause. This fund ensures that the hospital can continue to provide the best care, treatments, and resources to young patients battling pediatric cancer.
