Toups’ Family Meal

The video recounts the heartfelt journey of Toups' Family Meal, a nonprofit organization in New Orleans, founded in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the pandemic struck in March 2020, the city became a hot spot for the virus, leading to widespread layoffs in the restaurant industry. Chef Isaac Toups and his wife Amanda, owners of Toups’ Meatery, decided to support their laid-off employees by providing daily meals and a sense of community.

As the need for food grew beyond their staff to include local families and children facing food insecurity, Isaac and Amanda were moved to expand their efforts. This led to the creation of Toups’ Family Meal, which started providing nutritious meals to hundreds of families. The video highlights the logistical efforts involved, such as cooking, packing, and distributing thousands of meals weekly with the help of volunteers, donations, and community support.
